Football (Soccer)

I've now commentated on football matches in various UEFA competitions (including the Champions League), La Liga and the Copa del Rey in Spain, Serie A in Italy, Ligue 1 in France and the J-League in Japan. (I also called the 2018 AFC Cup Final between Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya of Iraq and Altyn Asyr of Turkmenistan on 48 hours' notice, which...was quite an experience, I can tell you!) Most of this has been done on a freelance basis for DAZN Canada or SolidSport, and I've received some incredibly positive feedback about my work: for example, I called the 3rd round, 2nd leg qualifying match in the 2023 UEFA Europa Conference League between FC Luzern of Switzerland and Hibernian FC of Scotland, and you can see some of the Hibs' fans reactions to my work in the comments posted here, here, here, here and here. My football commentary work for DAZN is difficult to access and share online, so samples of my work are harder to come by. That said, I have been able to cut a few clips for viewing - e.g., here two extended goal calls from the Serie A match between Milan and Juventus in October 2017, featuring color commentary from the former England and Aston Villa player Lee Hendrie:
